Some years ago, when Yours Cutely was but an innocent 20-something, I had a boyfriend who was a little shy.
You know the type. He liked books and all that geek stuff. Not too tall, sort of gangly. Glasses. Whatever you’re seeing in your mind, that’s him.
Totally ordinary college-age male.
Well. As it happens, Mr. Ordinary was the one that turned Miss Blaze into the connoisseur of weird delights that you know and love today.
It’s always the quiet ones that have the craziest, and kinkiest, fantasies.
You understand, this was long before pr0n was everywhere at the touch of a button. You had to get it out of magazines with brown paper wrapping, or know a friend who could lift VHS tapes out of his dad’s closet.
Even so, my sweet boy…
He had a thing for girls that played sex like sport.
All these years later I still remember how it felt when he dropped that in my lap.
The hurt. The feeling of rejection. The anger. The doubt. The disbelief.
He couldn’t be serious!?
There was time to think it over. Space. Talking it up with the girlfriends.
The more I chewed on it, the more I realized…
It’s a pretty good bargain. You have one boy so into you that he doesn’t mind you have fun with other boys?
Even Burger King won’t let you have it that way!
You know what?
I still didn’t want to do it.
Part of it is peer pressure. Girls have an image to keep up. Nobody’s ready to ruin that image like other girls.
That ruined it for him, I guess. We broke up, for totally other reasons, about six months later.
I always remembered, though. That seed he planted was always there in my mind. When you’ve seen the 31 flavors, how can you go back to vanilla?
Whatever else he did, he gave me that experience.
Showed me that sex didn’t have to be what I’d always thought. What the movies and romance novels said.
Some men want more than monogamy. Some women would be happy to have a wider range of experiences, but don’t feel confident to ask for the opportunity… or take it when offered.
I guess part of me always hoped his dirty idea would have a chance to flower.
But that’s another story…
